Lady Link (Legend of Zelda) Makeup Tutorial!

Hello! So last year, I made my Halloween costume- female Link! Since I haven’t done many costume tutorials yet, I figured I’d throw this one up really quickly. So first, what I looked like last year:

I didn’t draw the Navi as large this time, and can’t seem to find my hat anywhere, so I’m just wearing the wig. Start with a clean, moisturized face!

I am sorry for the bad quality images, but I dropped and broke my camera on vacation! I’m just glad that it was on our last day, when the sun was going down so I was about to stop taking pictures anyway.

(Oh, and here’s this awesome ring I found that kinda looks like Navi!)

So next, you want to prime your face, conceal dark circles and red spots, and then put on your foundation! Since I had just gotten in some ELF brushes I wanted to try out, I decided to use nothing but ELF brushes today, so I used the foundation brush to put on my foundation, then blended it in with my fingers. You can check out my Marie Antoinette makeup post to see what products I use and how I use them.

For the eyeshadow, I’m only using the Sephora blockbuster pallet (for the second darkest green) and the Coastal Scents 88 matte pallet for the rest. Make sure you prime your eyes! I use Urban Decay Primer Potion.

First I use the third lightest green in the pallet, and swipe it all over my lid as a base.

Then I took the darkest green that was in the Sephora Blockbuster Pallet, and put it over the lid, starting 1/3 of the way in.

Next, I used the darkest green in the Coastal Scents pallet, and put it on the lid, starting 2/3 of the way in, and slightly going into the crease.

Now blend! Make sure all the colors are blended well together and there are no harsh lines.

I took the second lightest green in the Coastal Scents pallet and blended it over the first 2/3 of the lid, and lightly into the last 1/3.

I took the white from the Coastal Scents pallet and blended it on the brow bone, and down slightly into the green shadow, to blend it further, and took an angled brush and applied some of the 3rd lightest green shadow along the lower lashes.

Now, eyeliner! I used Urban Decay’s Zero liner on the waterline, and a felt tip liquid liner on the top.

I then drew Navi slightly below my eye with the felt tip liquid liner, and filled her in with two different blues from the Coastal Scents pallet.

Add some blush (and some lipstick, if you like, but I had on Burt’s Bees tinted chapstick and I thought the color was fine!) and you’re done!

This could probably be used for any costume, just change the colors out for colors in your costume. So, instead of different shades of green, if you’re doing a fairy, you can use different shades of purple or pink, or whatever color you want to match your costume.

  1. I came here from the GCC LotD contest and I have to say, I think I love this look because you’re right, it can go for ANY costume at all. It’s also extremely wearable for day to day and not too harsh in my opinion. :D
